Best Inventions Ever

13 Jun

I’ve lived enough years to have tried and tested many different products from kitchens to clothing.  So I’m passing on to you, the reader of this blog, a few of my favorites which I call the Best Inventions Ever.  At the same time, I’m keeping the creative juices flowing with my love of photography.
This first one, The Magic Eraser, I’ve kept quietly under the kitchen sink only to get out and use to get scuff marks off my ceramic floor. Last week while removing a scuff mark off two tiles connected by the grout I noticed, much to my amazement, it cleaned the dingy grout!  In the 5 years since we’ve lived at this house, I’ve tried unsuccessfully, all sorts of ways to clean the eggshell colored grout which had become an ugly, dingy grey.  Ok, so we should never have picked that color in the first place but that’s not the point. The point is, I was so excited that I finally found something to clean the grout that I used three Magic Erasers working on my hands and knees to clean my entire kitchen floor!  A word of warning though, there are some surfaces you are not supposed to us it on because it will take off the finish.  So if you decide to try this product, read the label first.

The next item I discovered while on the HCG diet, which is a discussion for another day. Maybe.

This dressing is not only great on salads but also makes a tasty marinade for grilled chicken and it’s great when you’re counting calories or points. Walden Farms has many other dressings in this calorie free line but the only other one I’ve tried is the Raspberry Vinaigrette which is very yummy also. I did not like the Ranch Dressing though.  Those are the only three I’ve tried.  Some stores do not carry this brand, however I’ve bought it at Schnucks and Dierbergs in the produce section.

Last but not least, may I introduce you to the Invisibelt.

I’m not even sure how I discovered this but I wear it all the time.  If you’ve ever wanted to wear a blouse over your jeans or pants but hated that buckle bulge, then this is for you.  When I got it in the mail and opened it up I thought, “What a cheap little plastic thing.”  But this simple $20 belt works wonders for keeping your jeans up and getting rid of that annoying bump you get with regular belts.

Happy shopping!
