New Beginnings

24 May

A little over a year ago I was inspired to start a project called 365 where I took a picture a day for a whole year. The movie Julie and Julia was my inspiration where the main character uses Julie Child’s cookbook as she cooks and blogs her way through the book in a year.  Well, I’ve photographed my way through a year and I’ve learned so much from the other creative photographers on the 365 site. Check out my page here. Through their lenses I gained a more creative eye and learned more about my camera and to be honest, I’ve even learned a few things about myself. One of which was struggling through a lot of my own insecurities.  Even though the project ended I continue to take photographs of the world around me and I’m in need of a creative outlet so I’m beginning this blog.

Recently a family from church was in need of someone to take Senior pictures of their graduating daughter so they asked me if I would take them for her.  It’s been about 5 years since I’ve had a photo session with anyone so I was quite nervous.  Two days before the session I called my daughter-in-law, Kacie and asked if she and Bella would like to come with me to Main Street in St. Charles to scope out a few places for taking pictures. The next three pictures are from that trip.

Bella…the joy of my life.

As we were walking back to our car we heard this sweet little voice behind us say, "Kacie?" Kiley and her mom Malorie were right behind us. Kiley is Bella's BFF!

I think they held hands almost the entire time they were together!
